Spring Break day 4- Tuesday, April 7
Last weekend, poor weather was forecast for Tuesday. My weather app showed a 70% chance of storms. The girls and I decided that since we wouldn't likely be able to spend much time outside, we needed to find something indoors to do. We settled on watching Frozen II on Disney+. None of us cared to see the movie when it was out in theaters- we are not big Disney or cartoon fans and so the movie held little appeal to us. Once coronavirus and its incumbent stay at home order ensued, I suggested watching it together as a family but Donnie and Jacob expressed a strong lack of desire to watch it. So, the girls and I thought it would be a good thing to watch during the girls' spring break.
Tuesday morning dawned warm and not rainy at all. The forecast had changed. There was now only a small chance of rain. Nonetheless, we decided to continue with our plan of watching Frozen II. I suggested we get out of the house before we watched the movie in case rain came later. We drove to nearby E. Milo Beck park and hiked a little and then spent some time at the creek. We returned home and prepared to watch the movie that we had no plans to watch prior to the pandemic (definitely lowered standard of what sounds appealing to do when options are severely limited). I popped popcorn on the stove- ersatz theater popcorn that was nonetheless very good- and then we headed to the basement to watch the movie.
We had watched about half of the movie when Donnie called. He said he was coming home and would be doing some work from home. He had some reading to do that he decided to do outside on the deck to enjoy the warm day. The girls and I stopped watching the movie- we'd resume the following day- and went upstairs to clean up the house a little bit before Donnie came home. The girls went outside on the deck with Donnie. I was thinking about joining them but then took a phone call from a friend and we ended up talking 1 1/2 hours.
Had chili leftovers for dinner in our very warm house. The temperature inside our house rose to a balmy 77 😳. I loved it but I was the only one who appreciated that temperature. We opened some windows which helped a bit as the outside temperature decreased. Jacob had school work to do after dinner. Abby and Donnie worked out in the basement. Alyssa and I decided to drive to Patricia Allyn Park. We ended up walking four miles there. About half of the time we walked in the woods and half of the time we walk on a paved path that was not in the woods. It was a beautiful evening for a walk.
Not being able to travel to Florida for spring break is a lot more palatable with the nice weather we've
had so far this week. It's going to get cooler but should be pretty nice out the rest of the week.

Down by the creek, there is a patch of sand. It's almost like we were in Florida (yeah, right!). The beach we were going to in Florida was Clearwater. The creek at E. Milo is called Clearcreek. Our *clear* preference would have been to be at Clearwater Beach but we settled for our hometown "Clear" (in name only!) body of water.
I've found the prettiest rocks at the creek's edge (not necessarily pictured here...)
