Weekending
Linking up with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday:
Friday, I subbed which was good- I got to work with one of my favorite school people. She’s an aide and she has a daughter who’s in 8th grade. My friend told me that there was a dance scheduled at the junior high that evening but with the projected snowstorm, no one knew if it was going to happen. We did get the snow that was predicted- it started coming down heavy at some point in the early evening. It derailed Alyssa’s plans for the evening but not Donnie’s and my plans since they consisted of staying in :).
Piping hot homemade meatsa meatsa pizza on a cold and snowy Friday night?? Yes, please!
We ended up getting a few inches of snow (the junior high dance did happen, but my friend said that the drive home from the school was treacherous...) which added a bit of excitement to start the weekend as well as a bit of an annoyance such as why it happened on a Friday into a Saturday instead of during the week to get a day off of school or a delay.
Saturday, Jacob came home briefly before he left to go to the UD basketball game with Donnie’s dad. Jacob and Alyssa went out to grab Starbucks and the Jacob had to go. While he was at the game, I ran on the treadmill and then showered/ got ready. We had plans to meet friends at the theater to see the Bob Marley biopic. Donnie is a big fan of Bob Marley’s music so he was interested in seeing the movie. We all thought that the movie was pretty good. I ran Alyssa home after the movie since she had plans for the evening and then drove to the restaurant where Donnie was with our friends. I did not eat anything due to eating my tub of popcorn at the movies. We had a great time catching up with our friends and then came home.
Sunday was church followed by getting some things done. We worked in the guest room. We decided to get a new door for the room. Attaching it required quite a bit of work and Donnie had to get some power tools out. And now I have to paint the door. I’m looking forward to the fun part of the project. Though on second thought, the fun part is not going to be until the end when everything (hopefully!) looks nice!
I was looking at all the spots in the room that I need to touch up with paint (white on the blue/ blue on the white). Unfortunately, I need more stir sticks before I can begin the Painting OOPs Project. I realized that every wall in our house that has decorative white wood on some portion of the wall, the wall portion above it is painted blue. I guess we like blue and white, what can I say?
I was going to make dinner Sunday evening but realized too late that I didn't have an ingredient that I needed. So Alyssa and I picked up Steak N' Shake for us for dinner. Now it's time to batten down the eating hatches!!

What a fun weekend! Though I hate snow and winter, a cozy Friday night in sounds like perfection to me :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Holly! It was a good weekend- they go by so fast but Alyssa doesn´t school today which is nice!
DeleteUgh! I feel you on the "battening down the eating hatches". I started my do-over yesterday and did great! That's always encouraging. I'm sticking with it today and trying to put together a list to use for my grocery shopping that's about to commence. I love that you love blue and white; we also have blue in every room in the house except for two. We love it as well! It's such a beautiful and peaceful color. Our bedroom is my favorite: it's painted navy blue. That's why we have all white bedding! I'm glad that you had a good weekend and got to see Jacob at some point. I'd love to see Drew soon, since I didn't the last two weeks.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jennifer- That´s great that you had a good day yesterday. Today is the day for me! Your bedroom paint color sounds pretty. I painted our bedroom a few years ago a color that I thought was blue gray but it ended being pastel blue. Neither of us like the color but we don´t want to repaint it!
DeleteSnow for quite a few Hello Monday posters this weekend. Your pizza looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pamela! Sometimes the pizza looks good in photos and sometimes it doesn´t- this was a good pizza photo week! Yes, I think many areas had snow. We´re warming up here, though, this week ;).
DeleteOh my goodness, I am also trying to lose weight - the getting started part is so hard. Once I get going I do well. But getting those first few days or a week in is hard for me. I have been doing some workout videos though - just need to curb the eating!
ReplyDeleteI agree completely! Getting started is hard... though I am usually motivated the first few days or week. I can quickly lose my motivation!
DeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeleteThat is one huge bucket of popcorn! We have several friends who do Friday night pizza nights, I think it is a tradition that we should start as well. I love homemade pizza!
ReplyDeleteHad to get that size bucket of popcorn in order to get the free refill in order to have that much more popcorn to eat!! I wish I had started Friday night pizza earlier (we´ve probably been doing it only five or six years). It´s so nice to have one dinner a week already figured out and bonus it´s a good tasting one at that!
DeleteLooks like a great weekend! Why does snow always happen on the weekend?!? lol I'm all about some movie popcorn! It always fills me up! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ali- I know about the snow! We have only missed one day of school due to snow. Popcorn fills me up so much! My husband said that our friends wanted to go out to dinner after the movie. I said that was great but there was no way that I was going to eat dinner! I had way too much popcorn.
DeleteI love the blue and white combination! It's a classic!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanya- I feel like there´s a prevalent IG white aesthetic going on with walls. That´s a no from me! Both my husband and I like color on walls so we aren´t going the way of the total white.
