Easter

Our church had a 12:00 pm Easter service that we went to this year.  It was nice getting up and not rushing to get to church.  The kids sat with us at the service (they normally go ino children's church during the service).  On most holidays, our church doesn't have children's church.  I like the kids sitting with us because our pastor's messages are awesome.  The children's church services are great because the lessons are geared towards kids but I think that every once in awhile it's good for the kids to hear a sermon from our pastor.  In the car after church, I asked the kids what they thought of the service.  Alyssa said that she didn't understand everything.   "What was the big word that started with an 'r'?" she asked.   I asked her, "was it 'resurrectiom'?" and she replied that was the word that she didn't know. So, there are definitely many advantages of having a kids service- the definition of "resurrection" would have been explained to the kids in kids church.  Our pastor, gearing his message for adults, didn't give the definition of the word in his sermon.

After church, we ate at Carrabas with Bev, Scott, Denise and Don.  The food there was yummy Italian.  The kids ate a ton of bread which was good since they didn't like the chicken when their food arrived (they all ordered chicken from the kids' menu).  After lunch we headed to Bev's house where the girls went on an Easter Egg hunt in Bev's backyard (it was the first year that Jacob didn't participate in the hunt :-().  We had dessert there and Bev gave the kids their baskets.

We all ate a ton of candy and that combined with the late lunch that we had, meant that I didn't cook dinner. No one was hungry!  Alyssa and Jacob played outside some and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
