Boro United- Mid American Soccer Classic (MASC)
Jacob's Boro United Soccer team played its first tournament of the season in the bronze division of the MASC tournament last weekend. The boys had an EARLY soccer game on Saturday morning that the girls and I did not attend. The weather was supposed to be quite chilly (somewhere in the 30's) for the early morning game and I couldn't justify getting the girls up super early (Donnie and Jacob left the house at 6:30 AM) to freeze outside watching the game. Jacob scored a goal in the first game (it was to be his only goal although he had several assists) by heading the ball into the goal. The boys won both of their games on Saturday. The girls and I attended his second one and got to see the boys win! Abby had a dance competition in Columbus that weekend but she didn't perform until well into the evening on Saturday. I was glad her dance competition worked out such that we were able to be in town most of the day and were able to see Jacob play.
I love to watch Jacob play soccer. He is enjoying it quite a bit as well. His interest in soccer waxes and wanes and we're always hopeful that for the seasons that he decides to play, he plays with body and spirit. When he plays with the fire to win, he plays very well.
The boys ended up finished 2nd in the tournament. They lost their first game on Sunday and won their second game.
Jacob had just taken a shot that didn't go in. His hands are on his head in disbelief and/ or disappointment.
