1st grade music program

The first graders had their music program and all of Dennis had its art show on Monday night.  Alyssa was excited about her program; Donnie wasn't as pleased about since it meant she had to miss soccer training!!  The program was really cute.  The songs the kids sang and/ or danced to were touching and sweet.  

The night of the art show/  music program really ushers in the beginning of the end of the school year activities.  The following activities will all take place in the month of May at school:

• Teacher appreciation week next (we will be doing something every day for all teachers at Dennis and SI)
• Moms & Doughnuts next week (we're going Thursday morning)
• Volunteer appreciation next Friday (super cute program and yummy food afterward- can't wait)
• Field Day for both girls in a couple of weeks
• Field Trip for Abby to Schuster Center
• Talent show at Dennis for 4th graders on May 30st
• Business Day for 4th graders on May ?

That's just a bit of what's happening at school in May.  Throw in a lacrosse tournament, a soccer tournament, soccer games, lacrosse games, Abby's dance recital and a trip to St. Louis and we have ourselves a busy month indeed!

Back to the musical:

As the kids were walking from the hallway to the stage, some kids, like Jacob here, knew where his parents were and made eye contact and smiled...

...some kids knew where their parents were and pointedly, didn't look at their families as they walked in!

For the first song, the kids (as stars that they were holding) free danced (or walked) to Canon in D.  Such a pretty song.  Alyssa avoided going anywhere near the front of the stage.  How can she and Abby share the same DNA???
