Currently- August

Linking up with Jennifer for Currently...

The topics are what we are loving, what we're looking forward to, starting, thinking, and wearing

Loving: The summer sun! This week like many others this summer, the weather has been really nice. Lots of sun with low humidity. When the kids were younger, it would have been a great day to go to the pool or go to Kings Island. Now that the kids are older, I feel like in the summer and fall anyway, I'm on to kids 2.0 (being a plant mama to my kids, the plants) and I love this weather because vegetable plants thrive in the sun and I want my "kids" to thrive.

Looking forward to: Seeing my friend Erica whom I have not seen in about TWENTY years!! Erica reached out to me on the blog and we've been catching up by text and email ever since. We are seeing each other soon and I can't wait.

Erica and I back in the day...

We took a fun trip to Colorado together

Starting- to get ready for the new school year. We have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us as three of us prepare for school.  Abby will be a junior and will be living in a just off campus apartment (she'll be able to walk to her classes) that's furnished so she doesn't need a lot of things but definitely more than she needed when she lived in the dorms. Alyssa will be a senior in high school and has various senior things to do like senior pictures, shopping for senior picture outfits, hair appointment for the session, painting her parking spot at the high school, etc. I just renewed my sub license for the upcoming year.

Thinking- Of how nuts it is that at this time next year, we will be getting ready to send Alyssa off to college. Or rather trying to not think about it. But then thinking that it's a stage just like any other (well, not just like any other but that is the point of stages, right? They are all different from each other.).

Wearing- A comfy oversize UC sweatshirt that Jacob gave me. When I was at his place this weekend helping him move and get settled in and we were getting ready to go out to eat, I told Jacob that I needed to borrow a sweatshirt because I would likely get cold inside the restaurant. He told me that I could keep whatever I picked out (he has many sweatshirts and long sleeved shirts). I asked him if he was sure and he said that he was. So I shopped his closet and picked out a cute University of Cincinnati sweatshirt.

On Sunday evening, Alyssa and her boyfriend decided to go on a picnic to a park in Cincinnati. Alyssa told me the name of it and it sounded like something that was close to Jacob's place. I verified that the park was close to his new apartment so I told Alyssa that they should stop by his new place (after making sure that Jacob would be there). They did so and saw his new place. Alyssa said that Jacob gave her one of his sweatshirts when she was there! I would be concerned that he's giving away his possessions except for the fact that I know he has about thirty sweatshirts so I'm pretty sure he just genuinely wants to thin the herd! Anyway, Alyssa has been wearing her cute, new to her oversized sweatshirt from Jacob just as I have been!

  4. That's so fun that you reconnected with an old friend through your blog. That happened to me with my high school bestie through Instagram. Old friends are gold.
