Owosso, MI

When we went to Michigan for Thanksgiving, we went to my aunt's house in Ovid.  Ovid is considered a village and it is really small.  There is one blinking stop light in the center of town.  Surprisingly, it has a huge wide Main street (maybe one time it was bigger and more bustling?).  It does not have a hotel so we decided to stay in a nearby town called Owosso.  People not from Michigan would pronounce it "oh-wah-so" .  People with a Michigander accent tend to elongate certain vowel sounds, so if you're from Michigan, you probably pronounce it "oh-waaaaaah-so."  Anyway, I think Owosso only has one hotel so that's where we stayed.  We had adjoining rooms with Katy and Scott.  The  kids enjoyed being so close by to their cousins.  The hotel also had a pool.  The kids loved getting to swim after a three month break from swimming.

The hotel, the Comstock Inn, was not luxurious in any way, but it did provide 24 hour hot chocolate, tea and coffee AND had a large bowl of Tootsie rolls in the lobby.   It may as well have been a five star hotel to my kids!!
