Cousins in Michigan
We went to Michigan for Thanksgiving. I hadn't been to Michigan in years; as a child I went there quite often since my mom was from there. The catch phrase for Michigan back in my youth was Yes, Michigan! Now it's Pure Michigan. I was shocked when arriving at the Michigan border, I didn't see the usual Yes, Michigan signs! It could have been Pure Michigan for years now, but in my mind it's Yes, Michigan :-).
Whatever Michigan is, yes, no or pure, I still have family up there- several aunts, an uncle and cousins. We have become sort of a wedding/ funeral get together type family on my mom's side. It was so nice visiting with family for a holiday! My Aunt Katy lives in Ovid, Michigan, a one stoplight town near St. Johns and Owosso and not far from the state capital of Lansing. All of my siblings met at Aunt Katy's house, as well as four out of five cousins from one family, an aunt, an uncle as well as spouses and kids. In all, there were close to 30 people in my aunt's house for Thanksgiving. Aunt Katy lives in a large house built back in the day when kitchens were small and dining rooms large. We all fit, albeit tightly, in my aunt's dining room for the thanksgiving feast.
Girl cousins minus Mallory- Carly, Sophie, Ceci, Abby and Alyssa
Amy, Mama, Katy and Sophie
Susan's husband Jason carves the turkey
Lyss and Sophie
Donnie sat at the "middle" kid table and helped facilitate the kids' needs there.
The adults at the "big table"
Alyssa and Sophie at the little kid table
Aunt Katy and Donnie share a chuckle.
After dinner the kids went outside and played.
The kids loved playing with Mallory
The cousins and second cousins- Jacob, Gavin, Aubrey, Kamin, Ceci, Sophie, Abby, Alyssa, Mallory and Carly
Aunt Katy had special presents for each of the kids.

Jacob colors with Mallory (we won't tell any of his friends!)
