Weekend- Mother's Day
Had a nice Mother's Day!
I woke up early Sunday- the early bird may catch the worm but sure doesn't get breakfast in bed! That is ok. I ran first thing and then before I showered, I quickly planted the flowers and veggies that I bought on Saturday and then got ready for church.
The church service was good. Jacob came up from Cincinnati after he attended church there and we arrived home at about the same time. We were home for just a little while before we headed out to meet some of Donnie's family for a Mother's Day meal at a restaurant. We met at 2:00 pm to avoid rushes- since there were nine of us, we wanted to lessen the chance that we'd have to wait. We had a very good meal and exchanged presents. Donnie's mom always gets Denise (her daughter) and me gifts on Mother's Day which is super sweet of her.
Abby requested a picture of us when we were in the car together.
Donnie's mom Bev and Jacob at the restaurant- we ate at Firebirds. It was good!
The girls and me
We went home briefly to change out of our church clothes and into hiking clothes. I wanted to go on a short hike- the weather was perfect, and the parking lot, when we got to the nature center/park was full, but people must have been scattered throughout the park because we didn't see too many people.
We went to Charleston Falls which is north of us in Tipp City. The girls and I went to the park three years ago in March when schools and most everything were shut down. Then we went there a few weeks later on a weekend with Donnie and a storm rolled in right when we got to the park, so we left. Donnie didn't get a chance to see it.
So that is where we went. It was super pretty and unlike last time when we went in late winter/ early spring, the trees didn't have their leaves and the woods were a little drab in their winter browns. We enjoyed verdant vistas as well as the eponymous Charleston Falls.

What an awesome Mother's Day filled with all of your favorite things and people- love it!
