Friday Photos

A look back at the week, Monday through Friday through photos and screen shots.

I subbed two days this week- Monday and Tuesday at the junior high. There was a feeling of bonhomie and the students and staff conducted themselves with alacrity. Oh yes, the school year is winding down. I'm happy for the staff and students.... Junior highing is not for the faint of heart and, unless a child is home schooled, young teens must attend school with all of its attendant social stressors and academic expectations.

On Wednesday, I met Jacob at the Kenwood Mall for shopping and lunch. Had a really good talk with him at lunch which we ate in the food court.  I'm grateful that great conversations don't require eating at sit down or expensive restaurants. Donnie and I had an amazing tasting dinner with Jacob at a nice restaurant on the day he graduated which was lovely. But lovely can happen when eating spicy chicken sandwiches and fries in a food court as well, two feet away from preschoolers and their harried parents seemingly not enjoying their lunch ;).

Also, someone at Lululemon asked Jacob if he went to Harvard. Ah, that would be a NO! He got this shirt last summer in Boston so he was in the right city. But when the semester began, he made his way to the *slightly* less prestigious but perfect college for him!! (#thisBearcatmeansbusiness!)

Picked up some new things for him- graduation presents are what we're calling them ;).

During a stroll downtown with Abby- I really like this store in our town. It's as un-mallsy as it gets and I like supporting small businesses. I like the sign the owner had out front and of course, the American flag.

We got our throw pillows for our couch from this downtown store called Barefoot at Home.

Saw this on IG this week and what was a bit funny is that I had a cupcake like the one in the photo below (not Hostess brand but Entenmann's) this week for the first time in probably 35 years!! It tasted soooo not good! Either my taste buds have become more refined, or the product quality has gone downhill since the last time I ate a cupcake from a box for which I had to open a cello wrap to get to the treat.

My kind of omelet!

Abby can't seem to get herself to France (her high school and college planned trips to France have been canceled) and I doubt that a dollar store thin tin planter embossed with words in French that we found recently assuages the loss of the trips; however, the planter is pretty with these colorful  flowers.

I was genuinely confused for a moment. I thought, "Is this Democrat governor pro-life?" All the pro life rhetoric threw me for a loop. Assuredly upon further reading about him, he is not pro life- "...we'll do whatever it takes to save lives," ironically, does not apply to the smallest, most vulnerable and defenseless of lives.

Oh boy! Er, oh they?

I need to care less about politics, I know. I need to focus more on thoughts of Jesus coming back and not on the bereftness of "normal."
