Hello Monday

It's late Monday as I am writing this and I have forgotten a lot of details already about the weekend (and it doesn't help that I took very few photos- those always help jog my memory).

Saturday, I completed taking down the Rineer Wrapping Gift station that overtook the portion of our room in the area on the left in the pictures. Wrapping paper, gift bags, boxes, tissue paper, you name it if it pertains to gift wrapping, it was in the section of our room in a fairly unorganized state for most of December where I worked on wrapping presents as time allowed. I LOVE not having those items being out now that the holidays are over.

I did some online shopping. Lululemon was having really good sales so I ordered quite a bit for Alyssa's upcoming birthday. Alyssa loves LL and I love good sales so it's going to work out (...) well for both of us. I also made some goodies for our NYE plans. I made Buffalo chicken dip and monster cookies. Both ended up being a hit which is always a plus

Cheese Whiz! I believe that I "cream cheesed" better than many over the course of two weeks. The photo with multiple bricks of cream cheese was taken on December 16 before I made cream cheese icing for carrot cake. I knew that I had multiple bricks of cream cheese in the fridge; I wanted to make sure that I used the oldest bricks first since they go bad after a while. So I lined them up in order to make sure I used the oldest one first before I put them back in the cheese drawer in the fridge. I need not have worried! By the year's end, I was down to ONE brick of cream cheese (that doesn't expire until March). In two weeks, I made a batch and half of cream cheese icing, two batches and a half of buffalo chicken dip, one regular batch of buffalo chicken dip and two batches of a swiss cream cheese dip. 

Monster cookies for the NYE win! 

Saturday evening, we went to a friend's house to celebrate and ring in the new year. There was a lot of good food, friends, and laughter. I did a terrible job documenting it but it was fun!

There's a story behind this but it is not mine to tell, lol.

Sunday morning entailed waking up early (of course!), running, and then heading to church. We went to our church's second service as we normally do and it was packed. I can only guess that many people did not have my problem of waking up early and instead let themselves sleep in and then went to the second service.

After church, we relaxed until it was time to head back out (what us?? two evenings in a row with plans?). Our friends whose house we were out the evening before invited us back over to their house for dinner because they had so many leftovers from the evening before. OK! It was a good start to 2023!
