Soccer Weekend
Well, the weatherman erred both weekend days' temperatures. On both days, temps were supposed to reach the high 50's. That did not happen and although the sun shined (shone?) throughout most of both days, the wind made up for any possible chance of enjoying the great outdoors. Too bad, as the kids had six soccer games over the weekend- Jacob had five and Alyssa had one. The good news to temper the colder than expected temps, was that Jacob's team made it to the finals in their soccer tournament. They lost to a team that was much better than they were so the final game wasn't exactly heartbreaking. They'd won three games to make it to the final- that in and of itself was something to be mighty proud of for his team that for the most part struggles to win.
Alyssa's FCJ team "won" its first game on Sunday (the league doesn't keep track of wins/ losses but of course parents do!). For me, it was a win-win because it was the first game of hers I've been able to see and likely one of the only ones since Jacob plays lacrosse games on Sunday.
Who's that handsome kid playing goalie??
The boys were hoping to win the tournament; Jacob was not happy coming in 2nd place. I'm surprised he smiled for this picture. He probably smiled because he was obviously looking into the lens of another parent's camera. For me, he probably would have looked penchant!!
