Volunteer & Teacher Appreciation
This week at school was teacher appreciation and Thursday morning there was volunteer appreciation assembly at the kids' elementary school. All the students (both from Dennis East & West) and their teachers filled the gymnasium. Parents who came in sat on the bleachers. The kids took turns (by grade) singing a song. At the end, all of the students sang a Thank You song to the parents. I can't remember the words, but it's a tear jerker. Mrs. Wray, principal of Dennis West, remarked that Springboro elementary students have been singing that same song for at least 30 years during these assemblies. After the assembly, we went into the cafeteria where a yummy food spread awaited us.
As the room mom for Abby's class, I put together a teacher appreciation gift that I thought turned out cute. I saw a poem online about M & M's for a teacher- how the M's stand for Magnificent and Marvelous. I asked half of the class to bring in M & M's for their teacher and half to bring in school supplies since I know that the teachers supply many items when kids run out of them. I then put the items in two plastic bins. On the one with the M & M's, I attached the poem. I gave Mrs. Rohrig the presents on Thursday. She was really surprised and loved the gifts.

I was lucky that Abby was in the first row. There were so many kids there that not many got to be in the first row.

It was much harder to get a shot of Jacob. He was way in the back. There he is in the red Aero shirt doing his head shake!
The look on Abby's face is priceless. She's looking right at me and the look on her face is, "seriously, you're still taking pictures? I'm just glad that I curled her hair that morning :-)
