Ice Storm
We had quite the winter weather this past week. While we were spared a blizzard and a bunch of snow, we received a lot of ice. School was canceled two days in a row. The excitement of that was tempered by knowing the missed days will be made up at the end of the school year. On Tuesday, Jacob had a hard time believing school was called off. "But there's no snow," he remarked, puzzled. I told him to look closer at the ground. Our driveway and sidewalk were covered in ice. Fortunately, the roads weren't terrible. I was happy to use our frozen driveway as an excuse to stay indoors for two days (actually, Alyssa and I didn't go anyway on Monday so we went nowhere for three days straight. Thank goodness for Barbie Dolls, electricity, and a good book!). Jacob and some friends did venture out to play icicle ball. It's a wonder no one broke a bone...
Lexi, A.J., Jacob and Karlie play ice ball.

Someone just scored a hoop (it was either Jacob or someone on his team!!). The ball is stuck in the net.
