Jacob and Abby's last day of school was Thursday. Whew! We had been waiting for that for a long time. For me, as soon as the weather is nice outside, it seems like school should be out. We had a really warm April so I've been waiting for this for a long time :). The last week of school will go down in history as an extraordinarily busy one: Jacob had soccer tryouts multiple nights of the week and Abby had dance rehearsals three nights, culminating in her dance recital on Friday night. To add more drama to the mix, Jacob came down with the stomach flu on Wednesday so on the second to last day of school, he missed his first day of school due to illness. I was praying for his health's sake as well as for practical reasons that he would be able to go to school on the last day. I wanted him to be able to say goodbye to his friends and I had to go to his classroom on the last day to give his teacher the class gift. He ended up well on Thursday so he was able to go to school on the last day.
