VACATION!

As many of you know, we went to Sacramento and Lake Tahoe last week/ this week as Donnie's work required him to go to Lake Tahoe. We decided to tag along with him. One missed flight later, one first baby tooth out drama, one call to the Poison Control Center and plenty of fun later, we had ourselves a bona fide vacation! I took many pictures and will break up the blog postings. For this post, I will only have two pictures.
Abby lost her first baby tooth while in Lake Tahoe. Of course, we knew she was going to start losing her teeth (she's almost seven, after all), but it still came as a shock to me to see her sweet smile with one less tooth. When her tooth first became loose and she told us about it, we made a big deal of it, whereupon Alyssa began INSISTING that she had a loose tooth, too. When Alyssa insists on something, it's best to just agree with her rather than try to argue and/ or use common sense with her. OK Alyssa, you have a loose tooth. When Abby's tooth did come out, we exclaimed, "Abby you lost a tooth!" whereupon Alyssa piped up, "we'll have to go to the store and get a new one!" We all laughed at this, but how often in her life has Alyssa heard us talking about losing something and therefore needing to go to the store to get a new one? Why would a tooth be any different to a three year old? All Abby cared about was what the tooth fairy, i.e. daddy (the kids don't believe in Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy, Easter bunny, etc) was going to put under her pillow. All Jacob was worried about was whether Abby was going to get more money that he did when he lost his first tooth!

On the eve of losing her first tooth, I took this picture of her to capture one last image of her with all her baby teeth.

It's still a sweet smile, but it's missing something!

My sweet Abina, no matter how many teeth you lose, you'll always be my little girl
