Summer Break Week 7
This week was normal in that no one was out of town. Nothing extraordinary happened, either, which is fine. It was just a week in summer.
On Monday, the girls played together all morning. I should add that Abby and I arrived home from Ocean City around 2:00 am Saturday. Abby slept in, of course, but after she woke up, the girls played together ALL DAY. As in all day, like every second. I don't remember what they all played- Star Wars, Minecraft, whatever. They didn't want to go to the pool, they didn't want to run any errands, they just wanted to play. I don't think they were as joined at the hip on Sunday, but honestly I don't remember. Anyway, back to Monday- Alyssa had soccer camp at 3:00- 5:00 pm at Posey which I took her to. We got McDonald's for dinner. Jacob went to the pool with Blaine and then went to her house to watch a movie and then had dinner with her.
On Tuesday, Abby, Alyssa and I went to Prodigy for Alyssa's training session. Jacob's open field time changed. Instead of open fields starting at 10:00 am, it started at 11:30. That meant Prodigy from 10:00 to 11:00- arriving home around 11:10 then leaving around 11:15 with Jacob to take him to Wade Field. That was a lot of running for me, figuratively and literally as I ran on the treadmill at Prodigy and then did a bit of running (driving) around after that. Jacob needed to be picked up from Wade at 1:00. Jacob hung out with Malcolm and Alyssa and Avery spent time together.
On Wednesday- Jacob didn't go to Fast Twitch. His back was bothering him (and it continues to do so :() so we let him skip it. The girls weeded in the garden. They ran into the house a little before they're appointed time (I pay them on a timed basis rather than have them weed the whole garden; that system works way better for them than for me...) saying that a few bees were nearby and they were scared. Now the sound of that was music to my ears! My cucumber plants had yet to show signs of any little cukes and I was worried that bees weren't pollinating them- a necessary step in order for cucumbers to grow. So, I was pleased to hear about the bees. No one was stung, the girls had almost finished they're weeding time, and I'm pretty sure pollination took place, so overall the bee sighting was a very positive component to the day!! The girls dressed up in the Star Wars gear. Alyssa has a Rey outfit. and Abby put together a Kylo Ren outfit. They wanted me to do a photo shoot of them.
On Thursday- We did the Prodigy work out thing. Jacob went to open field but didn't participate because of his back. Later Jacob had a dentist appointment and I took him to his chiropractor. Alyssa went to the pool with Avery. Jacob hung out with Malcolm. Abby went to Hanna's house for a sleepover and Alyssa went to Avery's house for a sleepover.
On Friday- Jacob didn't go to Fast Twitch again. He wanted to rest his back. Alyssa stayed at Avery's all day and played. Abby came home from Hanna's a little before noon. The teens didn't do much the rest of the day. One of Jacob's friends texted him but Jacob didn't get the text until midnight that night. Jacob's phone had a major problem requiring buying him a new phone on Sunday :(.
And that was our week 7. I should add that was the kids' week 7. As for me, I did more writing than I'd done in a long time prior to the week. I wrote several blog posts on my dance mom blog regarding our trip to Ocean City, Maryland and I wrote several topical posts on this blog of our trip. I still have a few more posts to write on my dance mom blog but here's what I wrote last week on my dance mom blog:
Believe Dance Competition Day 1
Believe Dance Competition Day 2
Believe Dance Competition Day 3
Believe Dance Competition Day 4
Believe Dance Competition Day 5
Believe Dance Competition Day 6
I still have a few more posts to write regarding the trip.
Here are some pictures from week 7:
When you have long dark hair...
And a sister who's proficient in hair styling...
And you have a Rey costume, you end up looking like Rey!
Alyssa was having trouble keeping a somber expression like Abby wanted her to have...
May the force (Force?) be with you...
Love these Star War fans!!
Switching gears to Friday... I spied with my little eyes... a tiny cucumber. YES!!
Another shot of the cucumber... because multiple photos are necessary to properly document the occasion :).

Here the girls are dressed up: Abby is Kylo Ren and Alyssa is Rey. The photo shoot was completely their idea, I feel like I must add.
