Tubing on the Niagara River
Katy and Scott bought their boat (and tube) last summer. Since we didn't make it up to Canada last summer, this was the first time that we got to ride in it. They live near the Niagara River and that's where we went tubing. Katy and Scott's house is about a half mile away from the Parkway, a road which runs parallel to the Niagara River and which takes you right to the town of Niagara Falls and the Falls themselves.
Anyway, the girls had a lot of fun tubing and being in the boat. We don't have many opportunities to ride in boats since we don't have one and we don't have many close friends or family who do so. Riding in a boat is always a fun and different experience since we do it so seldom.
The afternoon we went tubing was hot and that made it especially fun to be in and around water. Katy packed a picnic dinner for us to eat on the boat. The girls tubed for awhile, came aboard to eat, and then went back out on the water. Going tubing was Alyssa's favorite activity while we were in Canada.
I took a ton of pictures but most of them were of the girls lying on the tube- not particularly necessary to post 20 pictures of essentially the same pose :-). When the girls got out of the tube and into the water, the sun was behind them and so the girls' figures are darkened, making for not so good pictures. I'll post a few of those anyway!
Silly Goose- Alyssa didn't realize that she had shorts on until she was already on the tube. It was a little challenging to get them off with her life vest on her. Sophie assisted in Operation Get Alyssa's Shorts Off

This picture of Alyssa holding onto her bottoms as she jumps in cracks me up. She has worn this bathing suit 98% of the time that she's needed to wear a bathing suit this summer. She has other suits but insists this is the only one that fits (it isn't). It appears now that the bottom is getting stretched out quite a bit and Alyssa is worried that the bottoms won't stay on!
