Christmas Crafts

While in Canada, the girls made some Christmas tree ornaments that turned out cute (alas, we couldn't talk Jacob into participating with us in this).  Best of all, the girls had a blast doing the crafts.  And, our tree boasts a few more of those perfectly imperfect ornaments, more special to me than anything that money can buy because they were made with the hands of my kids.  The girls were able to make many of the pipe cleaner ornaments and wanted to make some to give to their teachers.  I thought that was a great idea.  Abby gave her teachers their ornaments the Monday she came back to school.  One of her teachers, who is more like a classroom aide, but whom Abby adores because of the attention she bestows on Abby, went on and on about how beautiful the ornament was and thanked her profusely.  Gotta love our educators!  Some really do touch the hearts of the kids.  Mrs. Harris does that for Abby.

The second type of ornaments we made started off as the clear glass balls ornaments you can buy at craft stores.  We put glue inside the ornaments and then sprinkled glitter on the inside to stick to the glue.

When they were done, the girls started playing with the glitter that had fallen on the table.
