Happy 10th Abby!
Abby turned 10 one week ago (my computer was being worked on for awhile earlier this week so that's why this is a week late :-)). It's hard to believe that she's in double digits. Thankfully, she's tiny (there's nothing wrong with being big or tall but it makes it seems like she's younger than she is when she's small in size) and totally still interested in kid toys and activities. I hope she stays this way for a long time! We had family over on Saturday evening to celebrate her birthday. She loved all the American Girl items she received as well as some art items and clothes. Here are a few facts about Abby:
I let her open one present before school on Friday morning. It was a new, larger back pack that she said she needed.
I had lunch with Abby at school on Friday. She wanted McDonald's. Her she is with her best friend, Giovanna.
So excited to open presents...
Clothes! She didn't receive too many which is fine. She has so many clothes it's not even funny.
American girl doll crutches and cast. She received several AG doll outfits and two sets of matching PJ's for her dolls and her.
WWE Rumblers!
Journals
Another bag! I got it for her to use as a carry on bag when we travel. It will hold at least one American Girl doll.
Her cookie cake and cupcakes
- She is among the smaller 10 year olds out there- She's in the 5% for weight and 7% for height. Good thing she's old for her grade! She's the shortest kid in her class and probably the oldest!
- She is a great sibling! Alyssa is her best friend. They play and get along so well together. She also gets along great with Jacob. She and Jacob have always gotten along really well despite different interests.
- Her biggest interest right now is American Girl doll. She loves the dolls themselves, collecting clothes and accessories for them, and making craft items for the dolls. She "sewed" a dress for Julie yesterday. She makes little books for them. She and Alyssa have a "school" set up in the basement for the dolls. The dolls combine her nurturing instinct and her creativity. We love American Girl dolls! I hope this interest lasts a LONG time.
- She's a picky eater in all regards- junk food, healthy food- it doesn't matter. She has her own distinct dislikes (melted cheese, homemade frosting and brownies to name a few. Who doesn't like homemade brownies besides her??? Really, who?).
- She's a homebody in the worst way. She only wants to be at home. She complains about going to church, to school, to any activity, etc. I understand that tendency because I'm the same way. Still, it can be trying at times...
- She does gymnastics and dance. She gets rave reviews from her instructors from both. Her dance teacher says she's a natural and fun to watch (I've always loved to watch her but I'm terribly biased)
- She's the best 10 year old we could ever imagine. Love you to pieces Abbsy!!
