Boro Ball
A new season of Springboro Youth Select basketball season is upon us. Jacob's team started out the season by playing in a tournament at Kingdom. The first game was great! They handily defeated Waynesville. The next three games were bad. Really, really bad. One game, they lost 38-6. How does that even happen? I have all sort of theories about the shortcomings of the program in general, but for the purpose of this blog, will focus on the positives and not the negatives! The positives are that Jacob is playing on a team with his best friend Caleb and his good friend Rhys. They have never been on a basketball team together. Jacob loves his buddies and he loves basketball so the combination of buddies and basketball is a terrific one. Rhys's dad is the coach of the team. He's never coached select basketball before, but he's been a referee at high school games for many years. He really knows the game of basketball and has a lot of knowledge to teach the boys. So, there are some positives :-). I think that winning games is going to be the exception rather than the rule this season. I hope that Jacob has fun with his buddies and improves his skills in the game this year.
