National Ice Cream day
Sunday was National Ice Cream day. It had to be celebrated. Abby, who I can't imagine had any idea it was National Ice Cream day, came up with this Graeter's Ice Cream menu during the day and she and Alyssa pretended to be workers there. Jacob pointed out that Graeter's doesn't serve many of the items she had listed. "I'm pretending, Jacob," said my creative little girl. As it turned out, Graeter's was having a special price in honor of the day and we decided to go there to get ice cream. I had visions of the adorable pictures I would capture of the kids with their Graeter's cones, celebrating this fun summer day. Things rarely turn out how I plan them and alas, my good picture(s) never came to fruition.
Here's the menu Abby came up with...
The girls pretend they're workers at Graeter's.
At Graeter's- Abby couldn't muster up a smile when her ice cream cone was melting...
...but Lyss could!
When we arrived home, I followed the kids into the basement, determined to get a good picture of all of them together. I think I accomplished my goal!
Then I took some pictures of Jacob and Alyssa rough housing together. They have so much fun doing this.
Abby ignores their antics and does cartwheels.
Happy National Ice Cream Day!
