Mother’s Day Weekending
Saturday morning, we were at Abby’s dance competition in Dayton. Donnie and I drove separately since Abby needed to be at the venue really early but wouldn’t be dancing until later. The theater where the competition was held is connected to one of my favorite pizza places, Pizzeria Uno’s. Donnie and Jacob picked up a large pizza to go from Uno’s on their way out. I had some of that when we arrived home. I only have pizza from this place about once a year so I savor it each time I have it!
The weather was nice on Saturday and was predicted to be poor on Sunday so we did an outdoor, aka a Mother’s Day Activity on Saturday afternoon. We went on a hike together- a positive attitude with which to approach the hike was optional but attending the hike was not since it was a Mother’s Day Activity. (Some of us approach spending time in the great outdoors more enthusiastically than others :)).
We went back to Indian Mound Park near Cedarville which some of us had just been to in April. I wanted to go on a nicer day since the day we went in April was overcast and we weren’t all able to be there in April. Saturday afternoon, the sun was shining, the temperature was in that quintessential springtime, “Do I need a jacket or not?” range. We all enjoyed the hike pretty well, even the initial naysayers.
Late Sunday morning, we met Donnie’s mom, sister and family at Texas Roadhouse. As predicted the weather was cruddy and rainy all day. We spent the rest of the day inside relaxing and enjoying the remainder of the weekend. The week ahead would be busy for all so we (or at least I...) enjoyed a quiet day at home. Late in the evening, we found out how wonderfully Abby did in Saturday´s dance competition.
