Snow Day II

On Wednesday, the kids had their second snow day of the season. On Tuesday, a winter weather advisory was issued for the area. Expected snow accumulation was not high and as expected, we didn't get much snow. But it was enough. At first, Springboro schools had a two hour delay but that later changed to a cancellation.

The kids were pleased as could be. The teens, who have to get up really early on school days, were especially fatigued by Wednesday so sleeping in was most appreciated by them. They'd had Monday off due to MLK day and the previous Friday off, too, so they'd had four days of sleeping in. Getting up early on Tuesday was extraordinarily unpleasant for them. On Wednesday, not having to get up super early and go to school was something they could handle.

I don't remember exactly what the kids did all day and I didn't write anything down so I'm going to have to go off of my limited memory. Malcolm came over mid morning and the boys played PlayStation here a good part of the day. The girls played some together and some independently. The girls went sledding for a little bit and they shoveled the driveway for a small an astronomical fee ($5.00 to each girl!).

Wednesday afternoon, I had to go out and get gas in my car as Donnie and Alyssa would be taking my car to soccer that evening and Donnie wouldn't have time to put gas in my car on his way to soccer. The roads were fine when I was out in the afternoon and figured we wouldn't be so lucky as to get a delay on Thursday. We just had to be happy with our no school day on Wednesday (and we were happy with it).

I brought my camera outside to get some pictures of the girls sledding. They had brought two of their American Girl dolls outside to have fun in the snow...

I also headed up to the top of the hill to get pictures from a different angle (and to go sledding myself!)

They're on top of the world (well, not really- they're on top of a really small hill!!)

Alyssa gets ready to head down the hill with one of her dolls

Sweet sisters!

And then there's the boys... I tried to get some photos of the boys hard at play... Looks like they're playing some FIFA

...and Jacob does not want his picture taken!!
