Good times on snowy Beckworth Way
We woke up to ice and several inches of snow on December 26th. I was glad that Donnie was taking the day off work. We normally hit the ever crowded mall on the 26th to take back items and put a dent or completely use up just received gift cards. The bad weather kept us in all day, which wasn't a bad thing at all! It was only three days ago and I can't honestly remember what we did most of the day; it was as quiet as the previous day was hectic and therefore not too memorable. The kids all spent some time outside and I went outside and shoveled. Apparently, I didn't do a great job shovelling; my sleep was suddenly interrupted at 7:30 a.m. on the 27th by Donnie who had gotten stuck at the end of the driveway and couldn't get out AND who had an important 8:00 a.m. meeting AND had already spent a lot of time trying to shovel out the ice from under the tires AND needed my help to get him out! It took quiet a few minutes to get his car unstuck. In my defense, his car is bad on ice AND a snowplow came late on the 26th which cleared our street by moving the snow to the side of the street and of course end of our driveway is the side of the street. So, the 27th started with more of a bang than the 26th did! The kids all played outside for a good part of the day and enjoyed themselves sledding, making in igloo and throwing snowballs.
Below are some pictures from the 26th and the 27th and a slide show of the kids sledding.

The kids enjoy "snow cream." This is a concoction that Jacob got from his friend Nick. Nick's grandma makes this, apparently. You take fresh snow, add milk, sugar, and vanilla and voila! A frozen dessert to equal Breyer's in few preservatives :-).
