Atlantis

We went to Paradise Island, Bahamas and stayed at a resort called Atlantis over spring break.   Even though we've had a warm, mild spring, we were all looking forward to going to a place where it was warm enough to swim outside.   I was looking forward to not cooking or cleaning for almost a full week!  The resort Atlantis did not disappoint us.  There were fun water slides and a mile long lazy river to occupy us in the water park part of the resort; there was a gorgeous beach on the property, and there were pools everywhere.  The place was beautiful, with lots of water features and marine life on display.  The girls and I got to hang out with a dolphin one afternoon.  If the kids liked animals/ fish more than they do (they don't really like animals/ fish), there were other activities they could have engaged in (feed the fish, etc.).  The food was good and plentiful; we had prepared for a dining plan.  We didn't like how expensive the items were that we bought ($8.50 for a bottle of water, had to pay to use the work out facilities).  I read on Trip Advisor reviews about the high cost of everything so I brought with us a ton of snacks.  I was glad that I did.  Jacob loved hanging out at the tween club, Club Rush, in the evenings.  Donnie and I got to work on our tans a bit.  Thanks to a stomach bug, Donnie didn't feel well the whole time he was there, but on the plus side, he didn't gain any weight!  We had a good time at Atlantis but I don't think we'll go back.  It was so large and there were so many people there that it made it harder to relax.  Maybe next time, we'll go to a small all inclusive.  For now, we'll have the memories of our trip to a little piece of paradise!

Here is a slideshow of a "few" pictures that I took:
