Downtown

Today the kids and I headed downtown to go to Donnie work office and then to have lunch with him.  The kids have only been to his office one or two times before- the last time I remember doing it, Alyssa was a baby.  Needless to say, Jacob and Abby didn't remember it.  They were all pretty excited about being in reception area while we were waiting for Donnie to come and get us (he is called "Don" or "Donald" at the firm, I might add).  Caleb texted Jacob while we were waiting for Donnie and Jacob said he texted to Caleb, "I'm downtown in my dad's office, I can't play."  He seemed pleased as he said it.  They loved Donnie's office (Jacob was under the impression that Donnie worked in a cubicle) and the view out the windows.  After some time in the office, we headed over to lunch at Uno's.  I think the kids have a new appreciation for where he works, if not what he does.  Later in afternoon, Alyssa told me she wasn't going to work when she was a mommy.  I thought maybe I impressed her with my domestic blissness and had inspired a new generation of SAHM.  Nah, she was worried, when she saw all the paperwork on Donnie's desk, that she would get paper cuts if she worked in an office, so being unemployed seems like the safest bet for her.
