New Years Eve

We had a pleasant New Years Eve. The weather was uncharacteristically warm for a winter day- the highs reached the mid fifties. Donnie took the kids outside to play and to set up the goals for street hockey in the cul de sac. Next door neighbors Jacob (Little Jacob) and Taylor were out. The kids loved seeing their small neighbors whom we don't see much of in the winter when we're all cooped up inside. Big Jacob and Little Jacob played street hockey. Abby and Alyssa did not want to go outside (they are in the middle of the biggest Barbie craze ever- more on that later) but wanted Taylor to come inside to play.

Donnie went out to run an errand and picked up Flying Pizza for lunch. Flying Pizza is about the only pizza the kids like. Donnie loves it, having grown up eating it. I like it as well (bonus- the pieces are huge so you can feel good about yourself for only eating "two" pieces but you've really consumed a lot, lol).

Later we went over to our next door neighbors' house, Chad & Kristen (parents of Taylor of Jacob) to ring in the new year. Jamie & Cory with boys Jack and James were there. The kids had a blast playing in the basement. We adults had fun catching up, laughing, and eating. It was a great way to end the year and bring in the new year.

Welcome, 2011!
