First league soccer game of the season
Alyssa's soccer team played its first league game of the season on Saturday afternoon. Her team played Kings Hammer Red at Posey Hartman. Kings Hammer is the team that beat Alyssa's team in the first game of Mead Cup tournament. Her team played really poorly against Kings Hammer in the tournament and we felt like we were the better team even though we lost that particular game.
Saturday's game would help determine whether we were right in thinking our team was better.
The result... yes, we're the better team. We beat Kings Hammer 2-1. Not a blow out by any means but we looked a lot better than KH did and played better. The goal that KH scored was the result of a free kick from a foul. We definitely have a couple of foul prone girls on the team. The game was cut short by about 10 minutes due to thunder. It was barely raining when we got to our car after the game was called but very shortly after that it started pouring rain.
It was great to win our first league game!

While it may appear that Alyssa just fouled the KH girl's who's on the ground, she didn't foul her. The girl tripped with no assistance from Alyssa.
The goalie on Alyssa's team looks like she has control but Alyssa rushes over to help anyway...
Probably...
...a good thing. I can tell that I was "excited" as this play was unfolding because my camera taking skills degenerated!! The girls aren't nearly where they should be in the frame.
