Last soccer games

Jacob and Alyssa wrapped up their respective soccer seasons in early June.  Jacob's team competed in the Creek Classic tournament.  They didn't win or make it to the finals, but they did win their last game, so that's...something.  Alyssa played a double header on Sunday to finish out the season.  The girls won both of their games, including a win over another FCJ team.  I was a little bit ready for the soccer season to be completed.  Of course I love watching the kids play but that play comes at a big price.  Alyssa had training two nights a week in Mason.  That meant that Donnie had to leave work early two nights a week to get her there on time.  Of course the training sessions fell on school nights; thank goodness Alyssa is only in first grade so her homework was minimal.  We couldn't eat dinner together the nights that Alyssa had soccer training and I try my best, when possible, to always have us eat together.  Jacob only practiced once a week and his practice location was close by.  Some of his games were far away (1+ drives) and he played in four tournaments, all of which entailed early morning games, missed church, etc.  So, I'm not too sorry to bid good-bye to our spring soccer season.

One of the best kids on his team and definitely the best looking :-)

Check out these next two photos. In the one here, the girl in the blue has possession of the ball...

...this one was taken four seconds later. Alyssa was like, "I'll take that ball from you. Thanks."
